Most of us have moments when we’re wondering about the meaning of life, asking ourselves things like ‘Who am I?’,  ‘What are we here for?’ and ‘Why is there so much suffering?’  Often we need to hear different views and discuss them before we work out what we really think, and Alpha is a brilliant place to do that.

What is Alpha?

The Alpha Course is your opportunity to explore the Christian faith. No question is too simple, too tough or too out there. Try us!

What Can I Expect?

The course runs for 11 weeks. It’s relaxed, there’s a presentation around what Christians believe concerning those big questions and then there’s discussion. No pressure to convert, no right or wrong perspectives, just an opportunity to really explore what the answers could be. We have to be honest and say that many who come, do end up deciding that Jesus’ message makes the most sense of life and, like C.S.Lewis, they are ‘Surprised by Joy’. 

What Topics Are Covered?

Some of the questions we’ll explore are: How does God guide us? Who is Jesus? Why and how do I pray? How can I develop a relationship with God? What about the church? Is there more to life than this?

Who Is The Course For?

Everyone! Over 19 million people have attended Alpha Courses in tens of thousands of churches, cafes, workplaces and pubs around the world. 

Anything Else I Should Know?

Alpha is an established global ministry, engaging people wherever they are on their journey. You don’t have to come to the whole course – pop in for the first night and see what you think. There’s no pressure and no charge!
