Series Overview

This one-term series is our statement of intent for River Church in the next season, it’s a signpost of where we’re going and how we’ll get there.

The river flows from the presence of God and grows deep. God is challenging us as individuals and as a church to grow deeper. Like a river that turns from a trickle into a torrent as tributaries feed it, we will grow deeper, becoming ever more like Jesus.

The river itself is a coursing stream of life and abundance. Where it flows, it brings life. In the passage, it flows into the Dead Sea. The perfect picture of a curse-ridden place, but as the river flows into it, the salty water turns fresh. Trees and life and villages grow up around the sea. As we grow deeper, our community life needs to grow deeper as well. We will burst our banks and flow outward into our town, bringing the life of Jesus by doing the things he wants to do through us.

We are watered by the Spirit to grow more like Jesus, such that we can’t help but bring life where we live.
